Trip Descriptions

Oregon by Kayak offers day trips in a variety of coastal locations from Lincoln City south to Reedsport. Along this substantial stretch of coast lie many pristine bays, estuaries and lakes which are ideally suited to exploration by sea kayak.  The wildlife that may be encountered includes seals, osprey, kingfisher, and maybe river otter. Read the following descriptions of the kayaking opportunities associated with coastal towns. Oregon by Kayak generally categorizes trips as "In the Flow" or "On the Flat." We can better suggest a trip to your liking if you can decide which of these two categories bests suits your paddling preference.

Lincoln City
If you've had enough outlet shopping and casino craziness, then it's time to explore the wild and scenic side of Lincoln City. You'd be surprised by the beautiful waterscape and abundant wildlife so close to town.

Waldport
This is another place where a river meets the sea. During the right season the crabbing can be rewarding.

Yachats
This is the home base of Oregon by Kayak! There isn't much protected water for casual paddling, but there is a shallow bay for practicing skills. For those qualified for open ocean kayaking Yachats will provide a challenge.

Florence
There are many different ways to paddle the Siuslaw River. Depending on where you are on the river, you may be accompanied by seals and seabirds or paddle through town.

Reedsport
Maybe you want to experience the tidal flow on the Umpqua River. A paddle on a wooded lake sounds fun too. You make the choice.

Kayak Angling

For a truly intimate fishing experience you can’t beat fishing from a kayak.  Oregon by Kayak provides stable kayaks designed for angling, and guides with a line on the best spots and the paddling expertise to get you there.

Weekend Kayak Camping

If you have ever backpacked you know the pleasure of getting to beautiful, remote places and being self-supported. Sea kayaking is floating backpacking; sea kayaks are designed with ample space to stow camping equipment.  Weekend trips require reservation at least 2 weeks in advance. Trips are either vehicle supported or self supported. Accommodations are camping tents.
